VirtualBox Host-Only Adapter Error With Windows 10

After upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7, I ran into an issue with VirtualBox (version 5.0.0r101573) and my virtual machines. None of them would boot up. After looking in the VirtualBox preferences (not Settings for each VM), I discovered my host-only adapters were completely gone. Figuring the upgrade removed these drivers from the system, I would simply add them back and move along. No big deal, right? Wrong.

When I attempted to add a new host-only adapter, VirtualBox gave me the error:

Failed to create the host network interface.

Windows 8 in October 2012 [UPDATED]

As rumored in my previous article Microsoft (MSFT) will indeed complete its work on Windows 8 by the end of this summer and have it ready and shipped for consumption in October so says inside sources.

My Trials of Windows 8 & the New Metro Start Screen

I have recently taken a tour of the Developer Preview of Windows 8. All in all, the experience was familiar to Windows 7. The biggest (and currently hotly debated) addition is the new Metro Start Screen. For those of you whom don't know, it is essentially a new start menu. Instead of seeing a menu popup near the start orb, you now are greeted with a full screen app launching platform. In many aspects, it's very similar to the Wii menu. Quite a change, but I could find myself getting used to it.
